MANUELA MATTONE, PhD, is associate professor in Architectural Restoration at the Department of Architecture and Design of the Politecnico di Torino. She is a member of the International Board of the Doctorate programme Architectural Heritage, Politecnico di Torino and of the Commission for the International Relations with Central and South America of the Department of Architecture and Design. She is also a member of ICOMOS Italia, of SIRA (Italian Society for Architectural Restoration) and of the CHG (Construction History Group). She is scientific coordinator of conventions with public bodies and institutes for the development of research into the preservation and enhancement of the architectural heritage. She has been a visiting professor at the Universidad Nacional de Cordoba (Argentina) (2009) and at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario (Argentina) (2018). Her teaching and research interests focus on the knowledge and enhancement of architectural and landscape heritage, with particular attention to fragile heritages. He has participated as a speaker in numerous international conferences related to the topics under study.

SILVIA RESCIC has a Degree in Geology and PhD in Science for Conservation of Cultural Heritage at the University of Florence. Since 1998 she has carried out research activities at the Centre for the Study on the Causes of Decay and Methods of Conservation of Works of Art, CNR, Florence (now ISPC Institute of Heritage Science). Since 2009 she is full time researcher. Her disciplinary field is GEO/09-Mining georesources and mineralogical-petrographic applications for the environment and Cultural Heritage

GIULIA MISSERI, architect, assistant professor, in Structural Mechanics since March 2021 at the Department of Architecture of the University of Florence, where she obtained her PhD in “Structures and Conservation of Architecture and Cultural Heritage” in April 2017. Former member of the Department of Sciences and Techniques of Architecture at the Universiteti Katolik Zoja e Këshillit të Mirë, Tiranë (AL). Adjunct member of ICOMOS-ISCEAH (International Scientific Committee on Earthen Architectural Heritage) since 2019. Research interests concern the mechanical interpretation of materials and structures belonging to vernacular and monumental cultural heritage and testing and modelling of innovative strengthening solutions based on fibre-reinforced composite systems. She collaborated in several research projects and scientific missions on cultural heritage sites in Albania, Algeria, Afghanistan, Chile and Iran.
