Architecture, Materials and Environment. Knowledge, safeguarde and security of built environment
5-7 may 2025
Pozzolo Formigaro (AL), Piedmont
Theoretical-practical laboratory to learn about andvexplore the architectural heritage of Piedmont in raw earth through visits aimed at analyzing the building. The activities carried out will range from the study of the construction technique and materials used to the analysis of the state of conservation and seismic, anthropic and environmental weakness of the earth buildings.

Earthen architecture, fragile heritage
2 april 2025
Florence, Tuscany
Earthen architecture represents a fragile cultural heritage, yet full of potential for a sustainable transition. The Ever Earth project aims to explore this heritage in its tangible and intangible values, through a case study of earth architecture in Piedmont. It addresses risks related to seismic hazards, climate change, abandonment, and the loss of traditional building knowledge..

Terra Cruda
conoscere ed esplorare caratteristiche e potenzialità del materiale
16 aprile 2025 | ore 12:00
Santa Teresa, Via della Mattonaia 8, Florence | aula 203
The seminar, aimed at students and PhD students of the School of Architecture of the University of Florence, will address the knowledge of the raw material “earth” both from the point of view of its compositional nature and its peculiar characteristics, indicating the basic techniques to study it in view of its use as building materials and the consolidating and protective products that, designed to be applied on stone, are currently used for earth without specific in-depth experimentation, especially with regard to long-term effects. In conclusion, it will address the issue of the legislation relating to raw earth, as, to date, there is no specific legislation in Italy for the use of this type of material in construction.
